Our Values

Nestled in one of the cutest alleys downtown, between the Mekong River and the Inpeng temple, Taqueria El Verano is the first Mexican restaurant in Vientiane. The place offers delicious homemade dishes, in a warm and quiet atmosphere. It is located in an ancient house, richly decorated on the outside, with an elegant and cosy interior where tacos, nachos and buena onda are the real masters.

Genuine

All our recipes come from Mexican family recipes, improved by the exchanges we have with our Laotian friends. All our dishes and condiments are homemade, from sausage to spicy sauce to guacamole and even the ginger syrup for cocktails. Tea from Kinnari Tea of Laos comes from family plantations and for dessert, we serve artisanal ice cream from our friends from Haute & Cold.

Local

Mexican cuisine is unique in that it is possible to make many dishes with ingredients found on Laotian markets. We import almost no product except Mexican beer and cheese. Whenever possible, we order our ingredients from local organic producers.

Mestizo

In addition to being a Mexican restaurant, Taqueria El Verano is a Gran Café Mestizo. Some of our dishes include Laotian specialties, such as our sausage taco, and our selection of vinyls focuses on African and Caribbean music. Finally, we are proud to have an extremely cosmopolitan clientele!
